Designer Notes:
The reference garments used for this design were made in the late 40's.
One was a work uniform used by delivery drivers, and the other was a western formal dress trouser. We decided to utilize details from both garments to achieve a design that retains the durable construction elements of workwear while simultaneously boasting the elegant look of formal wear. This resulted in creating a pair of trousers that is not only beautiful by design, but also built for durability.
Material And Hardware Notes:
The Pinstripe HBT used in this garment was woven in Japan. Our Mill was able to accurately reproduce the fabric from our 1940's work uniform. Recreating a period specific workwear fabric used by delivery drivers for a well known beverage company. It is a strongly woven, durable and breathable fabric.
The pearl snap fasteners are made of brass. this hardware is aged to reflect the passing of time. The pearls are made of a genuine marble stone that is polished for a smooth, and cool to the touch feel that only natural stones achieve.
Our zippers are also a vintage design, made with brass teeth and a brass semi-lock zip. The tape used on this zipper is 100% cotton. It’s a shuttle loom woven herringbone twill, this weaving process is slow and is an accurate reproduction of materials used in the late 40's and 50’s. Our waist label is made in a similar manner utilizing a single needle shuttle weave.
Herringbone twill was used to construct the inner waistband and all pockets. It was used as a binding tape on the outer front pocket openings, all along the inner side seams, as well as the interior button fly to achieve a fully clean and beautiful pair of trousers inside and out.
Fit And Care Notes:
Please refer to our size guide for measurement details located on the final picture slide above. This trouser is designed to fit roomy at the waist, thigh and leg. We recommend dry cleaning this garment, though it is not necessary and can be washed gently in cold water and dried on low heat, or hung to dry. If choosing to wash this garment, it should be ironed on low heat to maintain the garment’s shape.
